35 YEARS OF MATRIMONIAL AND FAMILY LAW SETTLEMENT AND LITIGATION

Since 1990, Peter Bienstock has focused his practice exclusively on the full range of matrimonial and family law cases in all five boroughs of New York City and in all of New York’s surrounding counties. As his clients are mostly seeking prompt resolution of their family disputes, he has applied his considerable negotiating skills and experience to settle the vast majority of his cases, complex or simple, whether at the earliest stage or just before — or even during — trial. As the most efficient way to settle any case is to demonstrate a willingness and ability to go to trial, it is significant that he has also successfully tried to conclusion in Supreme Court and Family Court, and successfully argued appeals, in the simplest and most complex financial and child custody cases. He has received Best Lawyer and Super Lawyer recognition for at least the past fifteen years.

Mr. Bienstock’s practice is to provide direct, personal service and advice and the benefits and efficiencies derived from his decades of professional experience, always paying careful attention to the details of each client’s predicament. He understands that each client presents unique factual and emotional considerations but that most clients are seeking a prompt resolution which will allow that client to move on with life.

Mr. Bienstock has served on the matrimonial and family law committees of the New York State Bar Association and all of the area bar associations, including a term as Co-Chair of the Matrimonial Law Section of the New York County Lawyers’ Association, and a four-year term as a member of the Executive Committee of the New York City Bar Association and delegate to the House of Delegates of the New York State Bar Association. He has served as the Administrator of the Supreme Court of New York judicial selection panel for the New York County Democratic Committee, the Ethics/Compliance Officer for NYC2012 and, in 2003, was awarded the Commitment to Justice Award for his pro bono work as a mentor from the public interest organization, InMotion. He has served for the past fifteen years as a hearing officer for the New York State Commission on Judicial Conduct.
